What it did have was that unmistakable R34 body, a proper sedan layout, RWD, and enough potential under the hood to make it a serious platform for anyone willing to put the work in.

The ER34 even made an appearance in Initial D, driven by Atsuro Kawai as leader of Seven Star Leaf — so it's got the street cred to back it up too.
